[kwaIt] adv - bastante; q a lot of, mucho(s),-a(s); q. good, bastante bueno; q. often, bastante a menudo; q. well, bastante bien - totalmente: I q. agree, estoy totalmente de acuerdo; not q., no del todo, no exactamente; excl q.!, ¡exactamente! - (uso enfático) q. a, todo,-a un,-a: he´s q. a hero, es todo un héroe; that was q. a match!, ¡vaya partido!
Si el adjetivo es predicativo, se pone quite delante: the book is quite long, el libro es bastante largo; si el adjetivo precede al sustantivo, hay que añadir a o an: It´s quite a long book. Es un libro bastante largo.
Observa que normalmente quite significa bastante, pero con ciertos adjetivos que tienen un sentido intenso (absurd, amazing, fantastic, fascinating, etc.) o absoluto (right, wrong, sure, true, impossible, different, etc.) significa totalmente: It´s quite interesting. Es bastante interesante. It´s quite fascinating. Es totalmente fascinante. Si no estás seguro, puedes usar very o really: It´s really interesting. Es realmente interesante.
